White was a two-time Big East Offensive Player of the Year and led the Mountaineers to two BCS bowl wins. He holds several WVU records, including most career rushing yards by a quarterback and most total offense yards in a career.

  1. Major Harris Major Harris played quarterback for the West Virginia Mountaineers from 1987 to 1989 and was one of the most electrifying players in the history of the program. He was a dual-threat player who could run and pass with equal effectiveness. During his time with the Mountaineers, Harris threw for 4,605 yards and 35 touchdowns and rushed for 2,058 yards and 24 touchdowns.

Harris was a two-time Heisman Trophy finalist and helped lead the Mountaineers to the 1988 Fiesta Bowl, where they narrowly lost to Notre Dame. He holds several WVU records, including most total offense yards in a single season and most total offense yards in a career.

  1. Tavon Austin Tavon Austin played wide receiver for the West Virginia Mountaineers from 2009 to 2012 and was one of the most explosive players in the history of the program. He was a versatile player who could line up as a wide receiver, running back, or return specialist. During his time with the Mountaineers, Austin caught 288 passes for 3,413 yards and 29 touchdowns and rushed for 1,033 yards and six touchdowns.

Austin was a two-time All-American and was named the Big East Special Teams Player of the Year twice. He holds several WVU records, including most receptions in a single season and most career all-purpose yards.

  1. Steve Slaton Steve Slaton played running back for the West Virginia Mountaineers from 2005 to 2007 and was one of the most dynamic players in the history of the program. He was a fast and elusive runner who could break long runs at any time. During his time with the Mountaineers, Slaton rushed for 3,923 yards and 50 touchdowns and caught 65 passes for 820 yards and five touchdowns.

Slaton was a two-time All-American and was named the Big East Offensive Player of the Year twice. He holds several WVU records, including most rushing yards in a single season and most career rushing touchdowns.

  1. Bruce Irvin Bruce Irvin played defensive end for the West Virginia Mountaineers from 2010 to 2011 and was one of the most dominant defensive players in the history of the program. He was a relentless pass rusher who could disrupt opposing offenses. During his time with the Mountaineers, Irvin recorded 22.5 sacks and 29 tackles for loss.

Irvin was a first-team All-Big East selection in both of his seasons at WVU and was selected in the first round of the 2012 NFL draft by the Seattle Seahawks.
