He is the school's all-time leading scorer with 2,546 points, and he is also the school's all-time leader in three-pointers made with 338. Jacobson was a two-time All-Missouri Valley Conference selection and led the Panthers to their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance in 1996.

Ali Farokhmanesh - Guard (2008-2010) Ali Farokhmanesh is perhaps best known for his clutch three-pointer against the top-seeded Kansas Jayhawks in the second round of the 2010 NCAA Tournament. However, his impact on the Northern Iowa Panthers goes beyond that one shot. Farokhmanesh played for the team from 2008 to 2010 and was a two-time First-Team All-Missouri Valley Conference selection. He finished his career with 1,181 points and helped lead the Panthers to three NCAA Tournament appearances.

Wes Washpun - Guard (2015-2016) Wes Washpun played for the Northern Iowa Panthers for just two seasons, but he made a significant impact during that time. He was named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year in 2016, and he led the Panthers to the second round of the NCAA Tournament that same year. Washpun averaged 14.2 points and 5.2 assists per game during his time at Northern Iowa.

Seth Tuttle - Forward (2011-2015) Seth Tuttle played for the Northern Iowa Panthers from 2011 to 2015, and he was one of the most dominant players in the Missouri Valley Conference during that time. After his playing career, Nurse went on to become a successful coach, and he is currently the head coach of the Toronto Raptors in the NBA.
